Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has received a central contract despite being banned from bowling.

Ajmal has been banned from bowling since September, but will have his action officially retested at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on January 24.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have revealed that the central contracts will run from January till March 31.

Interestingly enough, Ajmal still received a Grade A contract despite not having played any international cricket for approximately four months.

“PCB has extended central contracts up to March 31, 2015,” a PCB release said. “The central contracts awarded for the year 2015 will be awarded in April.”
