India all-rounder Stuart Binny has replaced pace bowler Varun Aaron for the second and third ODI against Sri Lanka after the latter sustained a quadricep injury in the first ODI.

Aaron suffered the injury while bowling his fifth over in India’s 169-run victory.

“Varun is with the team. He will be monitored by the physios, and based on the assessment at the moment he will recover in two weeks’ time,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Patel told ESPNcricinfo. “We have decided to let him remain with the team only so that the physio can take care of him. That’s why in place of him, we have picked Binny.”

The decision to call up Binny as Aaron’s replacement was taken during a national selectors meeting at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

It was also announced that the roster for the fourth and fifth ODI against Sri Lanka, and the upcoming Test series against Australia, will be postponed indefinitely.
