With the first Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window having opened on October 6, the Mumbai Indians have made the first move by acquiring batsman Unmukt Chand and pace bowler Vinay Kumar from the Kolkata Knight Riders.

However, in order to make space for the duo, the Indians have announced that they will be releasing former Australia batsman Michael Hussey and pace bowler Praveen Kumar.

The first trading window will close on December 12.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced that the 2015 edition of the IPL will be played from April 8 to May 24. It was also revealed that the 2016 IPL will start on April 8 and finish on May 29, while the 2017 edition of the tournament will get underway on April 5 and end on May 21.
