The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have finalised the venues for the upcoming five-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka agreed to travel to India for a short series after the West Indies pulled out midway through their tour due to their ongoing pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA).
It has been announced that Cuttack, which was supposed to host the one-off Twenty20 International against the West Indies, has been allotted an ODI.
Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary, will also play host to one of the ODIs against Sri Lanka.
The cities of Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad were set to host the three-Test series against the West Indies. But, since that won’t be happening, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad have both been given an ODI, while Ranchi has been preferred over Bangalore.
The five-match ODI series will begin on November 2 and the BCCI have announced that a more detailed itinerary will be released soon.
