After agreeing to travel to India for a five-match ODI series when the West Indies pulled out of their tour, it has been announced that Sri Lanka will now host the Indians for a three-Test series in August 2015.

Sri Lanka were initially supposed to tour India for the three-Test series, but the decision was reversed since they agreed to plug India’s home schedule.

“As we are obliging India with a five-match ODI series there next month, India are obliged to return the tour next year and we have switched the Test series,” Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said.

According to Ranatunga, SLC stand to make approximately $7-8 million from the three-Test series against India.
