The Jamaica Tallawahs won the inaugural edition of the CPL last year
This year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) draft will feature 228 players and will take place on April 3 in Kingston, Jamaica.
It is also understood that 121 international players have applied for the draft, which is five times more than last year.
Besides the West Indies, players from Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and England have signed up for the draft.
“The vast majority of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad has also signed up,” a CPL press release said. “New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka are also well represented, and the draft will include several current and former international captains, leading Test stars, T20 specialists and limited-overs legends.”
The full draft list will be revealed on March 17.
