“We will play our natural game”

Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi has announced that the national team should excel in the upcoming World Twenty20 since they “prefer T20 cricket to ODIs”.

Nabi added that his team are used to the conditions in Bangladesh since many of the players have played domestic cricket there.

“We prefer T20 cricket to ODIs. Anything can happen in T20 matches,” Nabi said. “We are not targeting anything. We will just play positive cricket. We will play our natural game.

“Six-seven players have already played in DPL and BPL, so we are learning. Our team is good in T20 bowling, batting and fielding. We will try hard to go to the second round.”

The image of Afghanistan beating Bangladesh by 32 runs in the recently concluded Asia Cup is still fresh in Nabi’s mind and he is hoping that his side can knock off the hosts when they meet again in the tournament.
