Williamson and Mills will not feature in the two-match Twenty20 series
New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson and pace bowler Kyle Mills have been dropped for the upcoming Twenty20 series against the West Indies, which is scheduled to get underway on January 11 in Auckland.
Speaking about the decision to drop Williamson and Mills, New Zealand selection manager Bruce Edgar stated that he was looking for consistent performers, especially since the World Twenty20 is just over two months away.
“We are keen to keep this group together but mindful of the strong performances from a number of other players,” Edgar said. “We are fortunate to be in a position to have a range of quality players to choose from.”
