“I concentrate on my line and length and swing”

Just a day after taking three wickets in the fourth ODI against Australia in Ranchi, India pace bowler Mohammaed Shami has revealed that all his success stemmed from sticking to the basics.

Shami also revealed that he wasn’t under any pressure after having replaced regular pace bowler Ishant Sharma for the match.

“I don’t feel any pressure when I go onto the field,” he said. “I always believe in myself. I concentrate on my line and length and swing. I just try my best and work hard.”

Shami cleaned bowled Australia opening batsman Aaron Finch and all-rounder Shane Watson, while also dismissing Phillip Hughes, who edged a delivery to India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the stumps.

“The plan was just not to give any room to Finch as he was playing well,” Shami said. “We just kept our focus on that and wanted them to play as much as possible and we were successful.”
