Dhoni’s family have not lodged a formal complaint with the police
Unidentified perpetrators threw stones at India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s house in Ranchi yesterday, which resulted in a rear window being broken.
The incident occurred while Dhoni was captaining India in their fourth ODI against Australia.
According to reports, Dhoni’s family have not lodged a formal complaint with the police as they want to review the CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the perpetrators.
“It is the fifth time that the house was attacked and unless we verify the CCTV footage we are not going to accuse anyone blindly,” Dhoni’s brother-in-law, Gautam Gupta, said.
Dhoni’s family have also made it clear that the attack was not in any way related to yesterday’s match, which was abandoned just four overs into India’s chase of 296 due to heavy rain.
It is now understood that Dhoni’s decision to field first was the motive behind the attack on his house.
