Former England batsman Mark Butcher feels Pakistan batting all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat has a “big future” ahead of him.

Sadaqat has already made his white-ball debut for Pakistan, but has enjoyed the most success in T20Is thus far.

In five T20Is, the 21-year-old has amassed 184 runs, which includes two fifties, at an average of 36.80 and a strike-rate of 170.37.

Most recently, Sadaqat featured in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England and mustered 13 runs in two games at an average of 6.50.

Despite his limited impact in the tri-series, Butcher is excited about the young prospect and is eager to see what he can achieve going forward.

“I think he’s got a big future,” he told PakPassion.

Sadaqat was not picked for Pakistan’s upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.

The men in green will add two pacers into their side after the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.

Pakistan Squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Suleman, Mohammad Taha, Razaullah, Saad Baig (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Sameer Minhas, Saud Shakeel
