Pakistan left-arm spinner Sufyan Moqim said he opted to stay quiet and work hard in order to start getting noticed again.

Moqim has been unstoppable in T20 cricket this year and is likely to start getting more game time going forward.

During the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he was the highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets in 11 matches for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 7.20.

He followed that up with 12 wickets in six Caribbean Premier League (CPL) games for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at an average of nine and an economy rate of six.

“I chose to stay quiet, keep my head down, and put in the work,” Moqim was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

The 24-year-old recently featured in Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka, but failed to take a wicket in the one match he played.

He was also part of the squad for the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, but wasn’t part of the playing XI for any of the games.

Pakistan will now take on Sri Lanka in a two-Test series in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.

Two fast bowlers will be added to the team following the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.

Pakistan Squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Suleman, Mohammad Taha, Razaullah, Saad Baig (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Sameer Minhas, Saud Shakeel
