Former Pakistan chief selector Mohammad Wasim has criticised left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi for continuing to struggle in the death overs.
He noted that Afridi is still making the same mistakes and “never learns”, which is frustrating to see.
The 26-year-old is one of Pakistan’s key fast bowlers in white-ball cricket and also captains the side in ODIs, making it crucial for him to take wickets and restrict the flow of runs towards the end of the innings.
“Shaheen is still finding it tough to deliver at the death. He never learns,” Wasim was quoted as saying by TOK Sports.
Afridi was recently dropped from Pakistan’s Test squad for their tours of the West Indies and England, where they drew 1-1 and lost 3-0, respectively.
He also didn’t feature in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the men in green won 2-1.
However, he is now captaining Pakistan in the ongoing ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, and has taken three wickets in two games at an average of 30.33.
