Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan has confirmed that he still harbours a desire to play Test cricket.
Farhan has yet to make his Test debut, but does have solid first-class experience, having featured in 63 matches and scored 4,796 runs, which includes 10 centuries and 29 fifties, at an average of 44.82.
The 30-year-old has been one of Pakistan’s most dominant players this year, especially in T20I cricket.
However, he made it clear that even though he is only playing white-ball cricket for the men in green right now, he does have plans to break into the Test squad as well.
“I want to play Test cricket,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Pakistan have endured a difficult period in Test cricket recently, drawing their two-match series against the West Indies 1-1 before suffering a 3-0 whitewash against England.
Farhan was involved in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka recently, scoring 238 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 79.33 and a strike-rate of 165.27.
However, he wasn’t picked for the ongoing ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England.
