Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has made it clear that he has no intention of retiring.
Rizwan has endured a string of disappointing performances at both international and domestic level, including during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year.
Although the 34-year-old acknowledged that he has not been meeting expectations, he insisted that he is not ready to walk away from the game.
“I will not retire,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Rizwan recently featured in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, but failed to have much of an impact and was one of the seven players sent home midway through the tour.
In the two matches he played, he scored 61 runs at an average of 15.25.
Rizwan was not selected for Pakistan’s recent three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the men in green won 2-1.
He also failed to make the cut for the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, which will be held from October 18 to 31 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
