Pakistan batsman Babar Azam sees a bright future ahead for left-arm spinner Sufyan Moqim, saying he will have a long international career.
Moqim has been in phenomenal form in T20s this year as he was the highest wicket-taker in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played alongside Babar Azam, who captained the Peshawar Zalmi.
In 11 matches, he took 22 wickets at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 7.20.
The 24-year-old also featured in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he finished with 12 wickets in six games for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at an average of nine and an economy rate of six.
“Sufyan is an asset for Pakistan. Going forward, he will serve Pakistan a lot,” Azam was quoted as saying on X.
Moqim was recently involved in the Asian Games in Japan, where he recorded figures of 3-26 off three overs in Pakistan’s semi-final victory over Bangladesh.
However, he went wicketless in the final against India, where the men in green ended up losing by 19 runs.
