Pakistan batsman Irfan Khan: “Who says I am not consistent, look at my average and strike-rate playing in the lower order”

Pakistan batsman Irfan Khan has hit out at those who doubt him, asking “who says I am not consistent”.

Irfan pointed out that critics need only look at his average and strike-rate, particularly when he bats in the lower order, to see his value.

To date, the 23-year-old has featured in nine ODIs and 14 T20Is, averaging eight and 27 respectively, though his last international appearance came in March 2025.

He has also taken three ODI wickets at an average of 17.

“Who says I am not consistent, look at my average and strike-rate playing in the lower order,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.

Irfan played for the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 149 runs in 13 matches at an average of 24.83 and a strike-rate of 125.21.

Most recently, he was involved in the National Champions Cup, a domestic List A competition, and finished with 45 runs in three games for Pakistan Blues at an average of 22.50.
