Sharjeel Khan: “I have no plans to settle in the USA or to permanently play for any team there. My priority has always been to play for Pakistan”

Big-hitting batsman Sharjeel Khan said his priority has always been playing for Pakistan, despite featuring in tournaments in the USA.
He noted that although he takes part in these competitions, he has no intention of settling in the USA, unlike a few Pakistan players who have already made the move.
Sharjeel may be 37 years old, but he hinted that he remains keen on earning another chance to play international cricket. His last match for the men in green came in August 2021.
Earlier this year, he represented the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and accumulated 53 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 53 and a strike-rate of 170.96.
“My aim has always been that whenever I get a chance, I perform well. To give you clarity, I only play in the USA when I am available. Whenever I play a tournament there, I return afterward. I have no plans to settle in the USA or to permanently play for any team there. My priority has always been to play for Pakistan, and now that things have started again, I will continue to give my best,” Sharjeel was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
The Pakistan team were recently involved in a three-Test series against England, but didn’t come away with the result they were hoping for as they were whitewashed 3-0.
