Usman Tariq: “Mike Hesson advised me during [the] T20 World Cup to improve [my] batting. I’m working on my batting as well”

Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq has revealed that head coach Mike Hesson has recommended that he work on his batting.
Tariq has enjoyed a phenomenal start to his international career, taking 18 wickets in nine matches at an average of 11.16 and an economy rate of 6.66.
Recently, he was in action for the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred and claimed six wickets in seven matches at an average of 26.83 and an economy rate of 7.15.
He then represented the Trinbago Knight Riders, who have been eliminated from playoff contention in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and picked up 10 wickets in nine games at an average of 21.30 and an economy rate of 6.26.
Having made such a significant impact with his bowling, Tariq confirmed he is now devoting more attention to developing his batting.
“Mike Hesson advised me during [the] T20 World Cup to improve [my] batting. I’m working on my batting as well,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Tariq was not part of Pakistan’s recent Test series against the West Indies, which ended in a 1-1 draw, nor their three-Test series against England, where the men in green were whitewashed 3-0.
