Mohammad Amir: “No other Pakistani player has been as consistent as him in the recent past – not even Babar Azam”

Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir has been impressed with batsman Salman Ali Agha, saying he has been even more consistent than Babar Azam lately.

Salman captains Pakistan in T20Is and is one of the team’s key batters, regularly scoring runs in the middle order.

Azam has, for the most part, been seen as Pakistan’s most consistent batsman throughout his career, but Amir feels things have changed in recent times as Salman has overtaken the 31-year-old in that regard.

“No other Pakistani player has been as consistent as him in the recent past – not even Babar Azam,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.

Salman had been playing in Pakistan’s ongoing three-Test series against England, making scores of 21 and 4 in the 1st Test in Leeds, before missing the 2nd Test at Lord’s.

After the men in green lost both matches, Salman was one of the seven players who were sent home and replaced by seven others, five of whom are uncapped.

The 3rd Test between Pakistan and England got underway on September 9 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
