Pakistan spinner Ali Usman: “I’m still waiting for an opportunity in the PSL. I just want to know what more I need to do to be considered. I’m ready to do whatever it takes”

Pakistan spinner Ali Usman said he has taken 101 wickets in the recent domestic season and wants to know what it will take for him to get selected by a Pakistan Super League (PSL) team.
Usman has yet to play in the PSL and has only featured in one T20 match in his career, which came all the way back in December 2018.
Having enjoyed a lot of success in first-class and List A cricket, the 33-year-old is ready to do anything that he has to in order to get selected by a PSL franchise.
“I was the best bowler of the PCB domestic season 2025-26, taking 101 wickets across three tournaments and helping my department create a world record. I was also the best bowler of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021. Despite these performances, I’m still waiting for an opportunity in the PSL. I just want to know what more I need to do to be considered. I’m ready to do whatever it takes,” Usman was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Usman made his international debut in Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies, claiming six wickets at an average of 25.66.
As for the ongoing three-Test series against England, the Vehari native picked up a five-wicket haul in the 1st Test in Leeds.
In the 2nd Test, which took place at Lord’s, he took one wicket.
Pakistan are 2-0 down going into the 3rd Test in Birmingham, which will get underway on September 9.
