Pakistan batsman Hasan Nawaz: “I’m ready to bat at any position but my heart says I should bat at number four because my average there is 60”

Pakistan batsman Hasan Nawaz said he is ready to bat at any number should he earn a recall to the national team, but conceded that he would prefer to play at number four since he averages 60 at the position.
Nawaz is regarded as a promising prospect and has played four ODIs and 25 T20Is for Pakistan. However, a series of inconsistent performances led to him being dropped from the national side in November 2025.
He subsequently returned to domestic cricket, beginning with a productive campaign for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL). Nawaz scored 291 runs in 10 matches, including two half-centuries, at an average of 32.33 and a strike-rate of 134.10.
The 24-year-old then represented Pakistan Whites in the National Champions Cup, a List A tournament, scoring 131 runs in three matches, including two fifties, at an average of 43.66.
“I’m ready to bat at any position but my heart says I should bat at number four because my average there is 60,” Nawaz was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.
With Nawaz currently playing for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), he didn’t feature in Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
The men in green are now facing England in a three-Test series and trail 1-0 after losing the 1st Test in Leeds by an innings and 103 runs.
The 2nd Test will start on August 27 at Lord’s.

Namaz is not a test cricketer :most Pakistani batsmen can only bat on flat pitches including babar Azam:from the moment the wicket is turning , bouncing or seeming they are helpless:as for the seam bowlers currently except for Abbas the others are substandard for test cricket:how on earth can Khurram make this team-he is nothing more than a medium pacer
