Mohammad Yousuf: “New sensation Maaz Sadaqat is [a] raw talent, just like Saim Ayub annd Hasan Nawaz once were”

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousuf has described batting all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat as a “raw talent”, comparing him with Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz when they made their international debuts.
Sadaqat has represented Pakistan in six ODIs to date and scored 134 runs, which includes a top score of 75, at an average of 22.33.
He has also taken three wickets at an average of 13.
Yousuf noted that although the 21-year-old has shown promising signs, the big question is whether he will continue to develop or if he will fail to perform and lose his spot in the team like many other players who showed potential in the past.
“New sensation Maaz Sadaqat is [a] raw talent, just like Saim Ayub annd Hasan Nawaz once were. But with modern tech dissecting every flaw, the real test is whether Pakistan cricket can groom and protect this talent for the long run or will history repeat itself?” he said on X.
Sadaqat wasn’t included in Pakistan’s team for the two-Test series against the West Indies, which finished as a 1-1 draw.
The men in green are now taking on England in a three-Test series, but are already 1-0 down after being crushed by an innings and 103 runs in the 1st Test in Leeds.
Pakistan will look to bounce back in the 2nd Test, which gets underway on August 27 at Lord’s.
