Kamran Akmal: “Those who appointed Salman Ali Agha as captain should consider whether Salman Ali Agha is even eligible to be included in the T20 squad”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal said those who decided to appoint Salman Ali Agha as T20I captain should consider if he is even good enough to be in the team.
Salman endured a torrid time at the 2026 T20 World Cup, managing just 60 runs in seven matches at an average of 10 and a strike-rate of 130.43.
Given his subpar performances of late, Akmal questioned how the 32-year-old is making the cut to be in the playing XI, let alone captaining the side.
“Those who appointed Salman Ali Agha as captain should consider whether Salman Ali Agha is even eligible to be included in the T20 squad. The Asia Cup and T20 World Cup have passed, but Salman Ali Agha still hasn’t been able to deliver a performance,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Salman is currently representing Pakistan in their two-Test series against the West Indies and made scores of 20 and 0 in the 1st Test, which the men in green lost by 90 runs.
The 2nd Test is being held right now in Trinidad and Tobago between August 2 and 6.
After that, Pakistan will tour England for three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
