Mohammad Amir: “Shaheen was a great bowler before his injury. His rehab was completely messed up. Now, because he avoids putting weight on his knee, his brain, spine, and glutes are stiff”

Mohammad Amir believes fellow Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s “rehab was completely messed up” after he suffered back-to-back knee injuries.
He noted that Afridi used to be “a great bowler”, but is now struggling because the right steps were not taken during his recovery.
Amir added that the 26-year-old, who captains Pakistan in ODIs, also appears to avoid putting weight on his knee since returning from the injury.
“Shaheen was a great bowler before his injury. His rehab was completely messed up. Now, because he avoids putting weight on his knee, his brain, spine, and glutes are stiff,” Amir was quoted as saying by TOK Sports.
Afridi was dropped for Pakistan’s ongoing two-Test series against the West Indies, where the men in green are 1-0 down after losing the 1st Test by 90 runs.
The 2nd Test is currently taking place in Trinidad and Tobago from August 2 to 6.
Following this, Pakistan will head to England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
