Mohammad Amir: “When Saim came into the PSL, he was hitting no-look shots and nobody knew his weakness. Now, on third or fourth stump, he can’t decide what to do”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir has expressed disappointment at opening batsman Saim Ayub’s slump in form, saying that he used to hit “no-look shots” and “nobody knew his weakness” when he first came into the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Ayub has shown plenty of promise but has struggled for consistency with the bat, scoring six fifties in 67 T20Is.
Amir added that the 24-year-old also appears to struggle when the ball is pitched around the third or fourth stump, often seeming unsure of what to do.
“When Saim came into the PSL, he was hitting no-look shots and nobody knew his weakness. Now, on third or fourth stump, he can’t decide what to do,” he was quoted as saying on X.
Ayub is not part of Pakistan’s squad for their two-Test series against the West Indies, where they are 1-0 down at the moment.
The 2nd Test will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from August 2 to 6.
After this, Pakistan will tour England for three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
