Mohammad Hafeez: “This is injustice with Babar Azam and [the] Pakistan cricket team to make Babar bat at number four. Babar is never suitable for any other number except opener or one down”

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez said batsman Babar Azam is the victim of injustice as he is being made to bat at number four in T20Is.

He noted that Azam is not suited to batting there and should instead being opening the batting, where he enjoyed plenty of success in the past, or at number three.

“This is injustice with Babar Azam and [the] Pakistan cricket team to make Babar bat at number four. Babar is never suitable for any other number except opener or one down,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.

Azam is currently captaining Pakistan in their two-Test series against the West Indies and registered scores of 23 and 58 not out in the 1st Test, which his side lost by 90 runs.

The 2nd Test will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from August 2 to 6.

Following this, Pakistan will head to England to play a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
