Former Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim has expressed growing frustration with Babar Azam, questioning when the top order batsman will deliver in crucial matches.
Azam remains one of Pakistan’s key batters, with expectations high every time he walks out to the crease.
Imad noted that support alone will not be enough if the 31-year-old fails to perform in key games where the team needs him to step up.
“When will he win us a game? When will he make an impact in the big matches? The entire country prays for Babar to score runs. But support cannot replace performance. It’s about impact in big matches,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.
Azam is currently captaining Pakistan in their two-Test series against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, where the men in green find themselves 1-0 down.
Following this, Pakistan will take on England in a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
