Shoaib Malik: “Talks are going on to make Shadab Khan the T20I captain”

Former Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has claimed that “talks are going on” to make spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan T20I captain.
Currently, Salman Ali Agha leads the men in green in the shortest format, but there has been mounting speculation that his tenure could be coming to an end, especially after Pakistan’s 2026 T20 World Cup campaign.
Shadab’s name has long been linked to the T20I captaincy, but Malik believes the 27-year-old could be on his way to taking charge of the team.
“Talks are going on to make Shadab Khan the T20I captain,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.
Shadab was not picked for Pakistan’s ongoing two-Test series against the West Indies, where the men in green find themselves 1-0 down.
The 2nd Test will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from August 2 to 6.
After that, Pakistan will take on England in a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
