Former England captain Michael Vaughan has suggested that Pakistan batsman Babar Azam might no longer be suited for T20Is.

Azam has struggled to score runs consistently in the shortest format, while his strike-rate has been a major talking point for a long time.

While he does not see the 31-year-old as the right fit for T20Is, Vaughan insisted that Azam still has a place in Pakistan’s ODI and Test squads.

“I’m not sure T20 cricket is Babar Azam’s strongest suit. I see Babar as a 50 overs specialist and a Test match specialist,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.

Azam is currently captaining Pakistan in their two-Test series against the West Indies and scored 23 and 58 not out in the 1st Test, which his side lost by 90 runs.

The 2nd Test will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from August 2 to 6.

After their tour of the West Indies, Pakistan will travel to England to play three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
