Mohammad Hafeez: “No point to include Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz in [the] Pakistan cricket team in case both cannot bowl four overs”

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez said it is useless to pick spin-bowling all-rounders Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz in the T20I team if they cannot bowl four overs.
Both players have been among Pakistan’s frontline spin options in the shortest format, although Nawaz was recently handed a three-month ban after testing positive for a cannabis-related substance.
Hafeez stressed that given their primary roles as spinners, they must be capable of completing their full quota of overs.
“No point to include Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz in [the] Pakistan cricket team in case both cannot bowl four overs,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Pakistan are currently taking on the West Indies in a two-Test series in Trinidad and Tobago.
After that, they will head to England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
