Ahmed Shehzad: “I always believed in you and you proved your class to the world”

Veteran Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad said he always believed in opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan and is thrilled to see him dominating.
Farhan has been Pakistan’s best T20I batsman by far over the last few months and was especially impressive during the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he finished as the highest run-scorer with 383 runs in seven matches, which included two centuries and two fifties, at an average of 76.60 and a strike-rate of 160.25.
The 30-year-old continued his hot streak during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he accumulated 380 runs in 10 games for the Multan Sultans, which included a hundred and two half-centuries, at an average of 42.22 and a strike-rate of 166.66.
After that, Farhan featured in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against Australia and mustered 37 runs at an average of 12.33.
“I always believed in you and you proved your class to the world,” Shehzad said on X.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
They will then travel to England for three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
