Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has expressed dissatisfaction with Shadab Khan’s performances, questioning the rationale behind the spin-bowling all-rounder’s continued selection.
Shadab recently featured in the three-match ODI series against Australia, where he claimed two wickets at an average of 69.
He was more productive with the bat, scoring 100 runs, which included a top score of 71, at an average of 100.
Despite that, Shehzad remains unconvinced by Shadab’s performances over a longer period and questioned what the selectors see in him to keep persisting with him.
“You’re talking about Shadab. Tell me, what performance has he delivered? Who brought him into the team?” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a two-Test tour of the West Indies, with both matches being held in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
After that, the men in green will play three Tests against England from August 19 to September 13.
Considering Shadab hasn’t played Test cricket since August 2020, he was not included in Pakistan’s squad for both series.
