Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Usman Khan has lauded spinner Usman Tariq, saying he is “a very good bowler”.
Tariq has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame due to his unorthodox bowling action and ability to take wickets consistently.
In addition to this, Usman noted that Tariq’s success can also be attributed to the fact that he continually bowls in the right areas.
Tariq has also come under intense scrutiny over his bowling action, but Usman emphasised that it is ultimately up to the umpire to decide whether it should be reported.
“Only the umpire can tell about the action, but he is a very good bowler and is bowling in the right areas,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Tariq is currently representing Warwickshire in the 2026 Vitality Blast in England, where he has taken 16 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 16 and an economy rate of 6.09.
Pakistan, meanwhile, recently suffered a 2-0 Test series defeat to Bangladesh before bouncing back to beat Australia 2-1 in an ODI series.
Their next assignment is a two-Test tour of the West Indies, with both matches scheduled to take place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
After that will be a tour of England, where Pakistan will play three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
