Ashley Noffke: “You can assume he’s a threat – he definitely is. His career stats speak for themselves. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t things he needs to improve on to become the superstar he wants to be”

Pakistan bowling coach Ashley Noffke knows left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi is definite a threat when he bowls, but made it clear that he still has room for improvement.
Afridi has shown flashes of brilliance lately, but big questions still remain about his consistency and bowling speed.
While Noffke knows how lethal the 26-year-old can be when he is firing on all cylinders, he made it clear that he doesn’t want Pakistan’s ODI captain becoming complacent.
“You can assume he’s a threat – he definitely is. His career stats speak for themselves. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t things he needs to improve on to become the superstar he wants to be,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Afridi recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh and took five wickets in the one game he played at an average of 33.40.
He had a much better showing in the three-match ODI series against Australia, claiming seven wickets at an average of 12.14.
However, Afridi has been dropped for Pakistan’s upcoming Test tours of the West Indies and England.
The men in green will play two Tests in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6 before travelling to England for three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
