Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan: “I know there’s a lot of criticism directed at me but I focus on my game”

Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan is aware that a lot of criticism has been directed his way, but noted that he prefers to focus on his game.
Shadab has been in and out of the national team in recent times, but delivered an impressive performance in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained Islamabad United.
The 27-year-old was the joint third-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 14.47 and an economy rate of 7.02.
He had an impact with the bat as well, amassing 173 runs, which included a top score of 69 not out, at an average of 34.60 and a strike-rate of 141.80.
“I know there’s a lot of criticism directed at me but I focus on my game,” Shadab was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Following the PSL, Shadab did not take part in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.
However, he did find himself included in the squad for the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia and went wicketless in the first match, which the men in green won by five wickets.
The 2nd ODI will be held on June 2 in Lahore.
