Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has lauded batsman Babar Azam and left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi, calling them “megastars”.
Azam and Afridi, who leads the ODI side, have consistently delivered for Pakistan, playing key roles in victories across all three formats.
Most recently, Azam captained Peshawar Zalmi to the title in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), finishing as the tournament’s top run-scorer with 588 runs in 11 matches. His tally included two centuries and three fifties, at an average of 73.50 and a strike-rate of 145.90.
Afridi, meanwhile, led Lahore Qalandars and claimed 16 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 18.18 and an economy rate of 7.86.
“Babar and Shaheen are megastars,” Salman was quoted as saying on Facebook.
Both players were recently in action during Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, where Azam scored 68 and 47 in the only match he played, while Afridi picked up five wickets in his lone appearance. Pakistan, however, lost the series 2-0.
Their next assignment will be a three-match ODI series against Australia, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from May 30 to June 4.
