Pakistan pace sensation Ali Raza has admitted that he “didn’t feel like practising” at times when he was injured.
Raza, regarded as one of the country’s most exciting fast-bowling prospects, has delivered a string of impressive performances in recent months.
At the ICC Under-19 World Cup, he finished as the joint third-highest wicket-taker, claiming 13 wickets in five matches for Pakistan Under-19 at an average of 13.92.
“During my injury, there were times when I didn’t feel like practising. However, the management placed their trust in me, which motivated me to continue working hard,” the 18-year-old was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Raza is now taking part in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has claimed 10 wickets in five games for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 16.80 and an economy rate of 9.78.
The Zalmi will face the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final of the PSL on May 3 in Lahore.
Following this, the Pakistan team will tour Bangladesh for two Tests, which will be held in Mirpur and Sylhet from May 8 to 20.
