Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has admitted that former South Africa batsman Hashim Amla was the most difficult to dismiss.
Amla is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted batsmen to play for the Proteas and backed it up with 9,282 runs in 124 Tests, which included 28 centuries and 41 fifties, at an average of 46.64.
He also made 8,113 runs in 181 ODIs, which included 27 hundreds and 39 half-centuries, at an average of 49.46.
As for his T20I career, the 43-year-old from Durban amassed 1,277 runs in 44 matches, which included eight fifties, at an average of 33.60.
“Getting Hashim Amla out in my career has felt the most difficult,” Afridi was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Afridi recently played in the 2026 T20 World Cup and picked up eight wickets in five matches at an average of 22.37 and an economy rate of 10.52.
He then proceeded to captain Pakistan in a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh and finished with four wickets at an average of 28.
The 26-year-old is now leading the Lahore Qalandars in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken six wickets in three matches at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 7.09.
