Pakistan T20I captain Agha Salman has praised opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan, describing him as a player capable of taking the game away from any team.

Farhan has solidified his place in Pakistan’s T20I side following a series of consistent batting performances.

So far, the 29-year-old has scored 922 runs in 39 T20Is, which includes eight half-centuries, at an average of 24.26 and a strike-rate of 128.77.

While his recent outing against Australia was below par – managing just five runs in two T20Is at an average of 2.50 – Salman reiterated his confidence in Farhan’s abilities, calling him a dangerous batsman who can turn matches around on his day.

“He can take the game away from any opposition,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Salman is currently leading Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Farhan also featuring in the squad as a key top order option.

So far, Salman has made 55 runs in five matches at an average of 13.75 and a strike-rate of 144.73.

Farhan has fared a lot better, amassing 220 runs in five games, which includes a career-best 100 not out, at an average of 73.33 and a strike-rate of 164.17.

Pakistan are in the Super Eights after winning their group stage games against the Netherlands, United States of America and Namibia. Their only loss came against India.

The Super Eights started on a damp note for the men in green as their match against New Zealand was washed out.

Next up for Pakistan will be a clash against England on February 24 in Pallekele.
