Sarfaraz Ahmed: “Young talent Saad Baig has also been outstanding throughout the season, delivering impressive performances”

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has given a shout out to young batting prospect Saad Baig, saying he has been “delivering impressive performances” during the domestic season.

Baig was the highest run-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeA Trophy) with 1,000 runs in 10 matches for Karachi Region Blues, which included four centuries and three fifties, at an average of 55.55.

He then represented Khan Research Laboratories in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and amassed 311 runs in eight games, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 38.87.

The 19-year-old was lately involved in the President’s Trophy Grade-I competition and accumulated 369 runs in seven matches for Khan Research Laboratories, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.75.

“Young talent Saad Baig has also been outstanding throughout the season, delivering impressive performances,” Sarfaraz said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team are currently playing in the 2026 T20 World Cup, where they started their campaign with a three-wicket win over the Netherlands in Colombo.

Their next match will be against the United States of America on February 10 in Colombo.
