Former Australia batsman Tom Moody has heaped praise on Pakistan rising star Hasan Nawaz, calling him an “exciting power-hitter” and a “true impact player.”
Nawaz has showcased his firepower at the international level on a number of occasions. What makes him even more special in Moody’s eyes is his versatility as he can bat as an opener all the way down to number seven.
“Hasan Nawaz is an exciting power-hitter with superb form in Pakistan and franchise cricket. A true impact player who can bat anywhere from number 1 to 7,” Moody was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Nawaz recently played in the 2025 Asia Cup, where he made 17 runs in three games at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
Pakistan then took on South Africa at home, but Nawaz was not selected for the two-Test series.
The 23-year-old did feature in the T20Is that followed and struck eight runs in three matches at an average of four and a strike-rate of 66.66.
As for the three-match ODI series, the Islamabad native scored one run in the one game he played.
Pakistan will now face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series between November 11 and 15.
Afterwards, they will join a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
