Multan Sultans owner Ali Khan Tareen has backed Hasan Nawaz to be Pakistan’s “most explosive middle order batter” for “many years to come.”
Nawaz has shown incredible potential in his international career so far, but lately, his form has taken a turn for the worse.
Despite this, Tareen believes the 23-year-old deserves full support from the national selectors as he is a special talent.
“Everyone struggles against quality spin. Hasan is our most explosive middle order batter. And will be for many years to come,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Nawaz endured a poor campaign in the 2025 Asia Cup as he was limited to 17 runs in three matches at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
The Islamabad-born batsman did not play in Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa, but took part in the three T20Is, where he only made eight runs at an average of four and a strike-rate of 66.66.
As for the ongoing three-match ODI series, Nawaz has mustered one run in one game.
Once the South Africa ODIs end, Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, before joining a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
