Shaheen Shah Afridi: “If Shaheen Afridi plays for Pakistan, he will sacrifice his life for the country, don’t you worry”

Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has emphatically stated that he is ready to sacrifice his life for his country whenever he steps on the field.
Afridi has been in phenomenal form as of late as during the 2025 Asia Cup, he was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets in seven matches at an average of 16.40 and an economy rate of 6.60.
Batting-wise, he smashed 83 runs at an average of 41.50 and a strike-rate of 176.59.
Having rediscovered his form, the 25-year-old left-arm fast bowler is fully committed to doing everything possible to ensure the team succeeds.
“If Shaheen Afridi plays for Pakistan, he will sacrifice his life for the country, don’t you worry,” Afridi was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now facing South Africa on home soil and in the recently-concluded two-Test series, Afridi claimed five wickets at an average of 28.60.
He is now featuring in the three-match T20I series and has taken one wicket in one game so far.
Next up will be a three-match ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa from November 4 to 8.
Subsequently, Pakistan will play Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, and then compete in a T20I tri-series alongside Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.

A great statement but first he has to get back into his old rhythm. Start bending his back to extract more life and bounce. However, it is good to see him in “a new forgive and forget role with his ex colleagues.”
Since he is an all (3) format bowler, he has to skip a format to stay fit.
