India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has revealed that the two Pakistan players he was most eager to see in action were the hard-hitting pair of Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub.
Ashwin was particularly keen to see how they would do against India in the 2025 Asia Cup, where Haris and Ayub both fell short of expectations.
Haris finished the tournament with 131 runs in seven games, which included a top score of 66, at an average of 21.83 and a strike-rate of 133.67.
As for Ayub, he had a nightmare with the bat as he was limited to 37 runs in seven matches at an average of 5.28 and a strike-rate of 97.36.
“From Pakistan’s side, the two players I’m most excited to watch are Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel as quoted by A Sports.
Pakistan are now facing South Africa and began by drawing the two-Test series 1-1.
