India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has praised Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi for his batting as of late, saying “he has played many attacking shots”.
Afridi’s aggressive style of play resulted in a few lower order cameos, especially during the recently-concluded 2025 Asia Cup.
The 25-year-old hammered 83 runs in seven matches at an average of 41.50 and a strike-rate of 176.59.
He also had a massive impact with the ball as he was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets at an average of 16.40 and an economy rate of 6.60.
“Shaheen Afridi is playing really well. In the last two matches, he has played many attacking shots,” Kuldeep was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Even though Afridi performed brilliantly with both the bat and ball, Pakistan fell short of winning the Asia Cup as they lost to India in the final.
The men in green will now host South Africa for two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs, which will take place from October 12 to November 8.
