Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has commended left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi for the remarkable strides he has made in his batting.
It was during the 2025 Asia Cup that Afridi frequently displayed his power-hitting prowess and consistently added useful runs lower down the order for the men in green.
The 25-year-old amassed 83 runs in seven matches at an average of 41.50 and a strike-rate of 176.59.
Afridi hit eight sixes during the tournament, reflecting the hard work he has put in to refining his batting skills.
“Shaheen’s batting has improved a lot – he’s already great with the ball,” Salman was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Afridi also had a major impact with the ball during the Asia Cup as he was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets at an average of 16.40 and an economy rate of 6.60.
The men in green made it to the final of the competition, but failed to get their hands on the trophy as India beat them by five wickets.
Next up for Pakistan will be a home series against South Africa from October 12 to November 8.
The series will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
