Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman thinks opener Saim Ayub is exceptionally talented, but has not even shown 80 percent of what he can do.
Ayub has delivered moments of brilliance throughout his career, producing spellbinding performances that justify all the hype surrounding him.
With the 23-year-old regarded as one of Pakistan’s promising long-term prospects, Zaman is confident he has much more to offer and the capacity to develop even further.
“He is a very different player and I think he has not yet shown 80 percent of himself to the world,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Saim recently took part in the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, where he struck 111 runs in five matches, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 22.20 and a strike-rate of 132.14.
He was then involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, but failed to live up to expectations as he only managed to make 37 runs in seven games at an average of 5.28 and a strike-rate of 97.36.
The men in green managed to make it to the Asia Cup final, but fell short of winning the tournament as India beat them by five wickets.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a home series against South Africa, which will include two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs that will take place from October 12 to November 8.
