Pakistan big-hitter Azam Khan: “I had some bad eating habits, but that’s not an excuse anymore”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan has admitted that he had “some bad eating habits”, which caused him to be overweight.
Azam has regularly been criticised for his fitness and inconsistence when it comes to scoring runs.
With the 27-year-old taking strides to improve his health, he acknowledged that he cannot use his poor diet as an excuse for his weight any longer.
“I had some bad eating habits, but that’s not an excuse anymore,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Azam played for Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and scored 66 runs in seven matches at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 101.53.
After PSL 10, he was overlooked for Pakistan’s three-match series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the tour of Bangladesh, the limited overs tour of the West Indies, and the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah.
He also wasn’t part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, which took place in the UAE.
The men in green made it to the final in the tournament, but failed to get their hands around the trophy as India beat them by five wickets.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a home series against South Africa from October 12 to November 8.
The series will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
