Pakistan batsman Hasan Nawaz doesn’t plan to stop being aggressive, saying if he plays slowly, he will get out.

Nawaz’s aggressive style has led to his dismissal on several occasions, but it has also brought him significant rewards.

The 23-year-old has recently notched up T20I fifties against Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasizing that playing big shots is simply part of his “natural game”.

On top of that, he smashed an unbeaten 63 not out in his ODI debut against the West Indies, which came off 54 balls and included five boundaries and three sixes.

“This is my natural game. If I play slowly, I’ll get out,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Nawaz is now playing in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is taking place in the UAE.

He hasn’t had the kind of impact he would have liked as he has only managed to score 17 runs in three games at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.

Pakistan triumphed over Oman and the UAE in the group stage, while losing to India as well.

They failed to beat India again in the Super Four, but did take down Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to advance to the final.

Pakistan will face India in the Asia Cup final on September 28 in Dubai.
